On Sunday I went up to CleanEx in Ascott with Vicki, Roni and Pierre. If you’ve never heard of it, CleanEx is the UK show for laundry, dry cleaning and textile care. It’s where you see equipment running, talk to suppliers face-to-face, and pick up on the small changes happening behind the scenes. The ones that end up affecting how garments look and feel when they come back to you. It’s not a “big reveal” sort of day. It’s more like a good service MOT. You go, you look closely

Most days we rush through small jobs without thinking about them. We fold a shirt, wipe a mark, hang a coat back up and our mind is already on the next thing. I do it too. Last Sunday Vicki, Roni and I escaped the usual rhythm and took a trip into London together. No agenda, no rush... just a shared curiosity and a chance to spend proper time learning something new.

Pierre and I arrived at Lepo Lorun, Flores, in Indonesia, expecting to see a few looms and some handmade fabric, a glimpse of an old craft still alive in the hills of Flores.

Yesterday, Vicki, Roni and I took a step back in time — and it was marvellous. The Classic Car Boot Sale in London, set against a backdrop of gleaming classic cars, offered more than just a browse through automotive history. It was a gathering of style, care, and passion — the very values we hold close at Farthings.

It was an exciting Sunday for Vicki, Liz, Roni, Pierre, and me at the CleanEx event at Ascott Racecourse.

This past Sunday, we had an absolute blast at Alton Towers alongside the fantastic teams from Farthings Dry Cleaners Cambridge and Trumpington. Farthings Cambridge and Trumpington , in conjunction with Art of Flooring , Art of Clean have participated in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge - a 24-mile trek over three of Yorkshire's highest peaks – on Sunday the 7th of May 2023.
